A film’s poster is like its print ad; it is an arresting visual or series of visuals with a tagline that succinctly delivers the message of the film . Like a sari, it has to reveal the interesting bits to titillate but hide enough to make one lust for more. Movie posters serve as an integral part of a film’s marketing and also in its visual branding.
Many film aficionados tend to make their own versions of movie posters of their favourite films either because they want to give it a twist of their own, or because sometimes the original posters don’t do justice to the movie. I loved his illustrations, especially the posters for the Harry Potter series that are redolent of minimal movie posters. Adam is adept in shifting styles effortlessly; he can make gritty posters for horror movies as deftly as he can make vibrant posters for other genres.
