Google is going all the way to make the Olympics 2012 special. The string of illustrated Google Doodle for the Olympics 2012 are now followed by interactive games based on the various sports. Today’s Google Doodle for the Olympics 2012 is an interactive game of Basketball.
As the Olympics 2012 is surging ahead so are the doodles made by Google; each one tries to outdo the other. Yesterday’s Google Doodle was a game of Hurdles where you could control a runner using the buttons of the keyboard to make him jump over the obstacles. Here’s what I felt about it: Google Doodle Hurdles. The interactive Google Doodle even gave the final score of the player along with the number of medals won by them. If Facebook posts were anything to go by, yesterday’s Google Doodle was an uproarious hit. People uploaded screen shots of their final score and gloated about it. I myself scored a measly 22 seconds and was so shameful that I photoshopped a good enough score to upload, but colleagues got into duels with their friends to prove who the better hurdler was.
Today’s interactive Google Doodle for the Olympics 2012 is a game of Basketball. A female player stands in front of the basket as basketballs roll into her hands like bowling balls roll in an alley. You can control the player using either the keyboard (by pressing the space bar the female throws the ball) or mouse (on double clicking she tosses the ball). This Google Doodle is a bit more complex than the previous one; if you don’t throw the ball, it becomes full of kinetic energy and turns to red; this ball then ends up overshooting. On not making a good score, the female character of the Google Doodle gets jaded. This is indicated by the scribble of black lines on her head (my basketball female ends up in this state regularly; similar to the women I date).
Take a shot at today’s Google Doodle for the Olympics 2012 on basketball. Maybe, you’ll fare better than me; a colleague of mine just got the score of 39! If not, you can go back to jumping hurdles here: http://www.google.com/doodles/hurdles-2012
