Sohei Nishoso‘s photography project ‘Wanderlust’ fuses several monochrome images together to create a complete picture of a city, much like a map, that’s replete with all the intimate details like the landmark buildings, winding streets, vast expanses of oceans.

http://digitalanalog.in/wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wordpress/img/trans.gifThe Japanese artist meticulously captured images from leading cities like Berlin, New York, Shanghai, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, and Hong Kong in tones of black and white. He then composited them together to create the image of a singular entity, effectively combining parts of create a whole. On looking closely, you can see famous structures and landmarks of these places embedded within each city’s collage. The images together create an inaccurate but complete picture of the landscape. Each urbanscape is crafted from individual pictures, taken from the right vantage points, which capture the city in a particular light.  It is also fulfilling to see Sohei’s love for travel come together in a pet project in such a marvelous way. The task of putting the images in order must have been monumental and tiresome but the result makes the effort very gratifying.
