Apple is set to launch its next major update for iOS i.e. iOS 4.2 on Friday at 11.30 pm IST according to an insider in AT&T as reported by Macstories. Along with iOS 4.2 update, updates on Mac OS X and iTunes will be released sometime today. iTunes will be reaching version 10.10.0 (simply called iTunes 10.1) and Mac OS X will jump to the long-awaited 10.6.5 version.
According to Apple Insider, 10.6.5 completed the certification stage yesterday and iTunes was ready 3 weeks ago — likely after the release of beta 2 to developers.
This iOS 4.2 update will be solving the iPhone alarm problem as it has been creating quite a buzz. Also lot of iPhone users whose baseband 2.10.4, 05.14.02 has been locked will be delighted by this news since jailbreak on iOS 4.1 will be released soon after the update.
