Neave.com is the home of interactive designer Paul Neave. Paul makes interactive tools and toys, everything from games to application; from experimental art to user interfaces. He uses his website as an interactive playground and a platform to showcase his ideas and to carry out his experiments.
Paul’s interactive ideas includes ‘Flash Earth’ which explores satellite and aerial imagery of the Earth from multiple sources including NASA, Microsoft and more inside a flash based interface. The ‘Neave Planetarium’ lets you explore stars and planets through your browser.
Applications like ‘Bounce’, ‘Light’ and ‘Dandelion’ are audio reactive apps. You can use a microphone to input sound and depending on the audio, patterns are formed on the screen synchronized to the beat of the sound.
‘Neave Webcam’ lets you play with over 30 webcam effects and lets you record yourself on a free-for-all online video wall. The ‘ Television’ App lets you broadcast TV without context.
Probably the most fascinating application would be the ‘Neave Imagination’. This app lets you paint your imagination on your web browser and creates crazy visualizations made up of big wobbly lines based on the movements of your cursor. If you own a pair of red-cyan 3D glasses, you could use them to draw in 3D using the ‘Anaglyph’ application.
‘Strobe’ and ‘Fractal’ are two more experimental apps that could make you dizzy. Paul has also remade retro arcade games like Space Invaders, Tetris, Astroids, Snake, etc in Flash.
